This morning we gave a call to the church where we went last night, and sure enough someone was willing to meet us there and help us burn these outreach CDs! Huge blessing!! We put two of Kathleen's songs on there, along with a brief Gospel message from Paul Washer... all in all about 20 minutes worth.
Then we set out at around 6 pm tonight to hit up State Street right there in the main hub of Madison, WI right next to the infamous University of Wisconsin, Madison... the renown #1 party school of the US. We walked the main street greeting people and offering our free CD. Only a handful of people rejected it as we explained it had some music from our friend and a message about Jesus. But surprisingly we were able to give out 90 of these CDs! We were excited for how the Lord softened people's hearts to speak with us and take what we were handing out in a place we were warned by many would be very unfruitful. We pray that God would cause many to be curious about the message and actually listen to it, and that He would encounter each person who puts in the CD.
There were also another group of guys out here speaking to people on the streets at the entrance to State Street. We have seen this a couple of times now in our travels, and I see this more and more frequently nowadays.... I wonder if God isn't doing a work. It seems He still does use the foolishness of preaching and standing on the streets to proclaim a message that we in the church often refuse to share to anyone that doesn't already believe. I know for myself, I am often more concerned about what others think about me than the message God wants to give a lost and dying world. I pray that He will decrease my fear of man and cause me to do things that seem foolish for His sake.
