actually. Well, it wasn't funny yesterday, but I guess I'm over it now... :)
So we are at the apartment and Brett & Casey grab the very first item to put in the van... the couch. I had gone downstairs with some of my luggage and the girls hadn't come back to the apartment yet. Joe was downstairs keeping an eye on the van. On the way back up to the apartment I call at the dial box for them to buzz me in. No answer. Hmm.
So then I call Casey's cell phone. No answer. I call through the call box
again. Nothing. Then I call Brett's number. Lo and behold the guys locked
themselves out of the apartment. It was one of those automatic locks.
BLAST!!! So here the guys were jammed in the stairwell trying to figure out
what to do next. We call the apartment offices, but they absolutely will
not let us in because we aren't on the lease. The only thing we can do is go
back to the missionary's place and get his extra key. It starts pouring
down rain, and the only item we got out of the apartment to move was the
bottom of the couch. There are still all the cushions, the inner mattress
for the couch, a TV, and some kitchen stuff we need to move.
So the boys end up having to run through the rain with the couch, shove it in the van, head out to Brooklyn to get the spare key, and head back. There is no spare key to the stairwell though, so I sit on the ground in the stairwell for 2 hours waiting for them to return. I did take a little nap, but probably looked homeless.
We drove through the night and arrived in Chicago at around 8:30 this morning, just in time to jump out of the van and get into the lecture hall at Moody Bible Institute to catch the end of Paul Washer's morning devotional on The Gospel. Flooring, as always!

The track I picked to go through today was called "Disciple-making Part 1" taught by Dr. Dann Spader (president of Global Youth Initiative). I think Casey went to "Sanctification in a Post-Modern Culture", but I'll have to have him write about it :)
I'll talk about this track on tomorrow's post after I complete the second part!
