After that, he and another chaplain from the mission took us out to the Boardwalk to see if there were any homeless to invite to the rescue mission. They wanted to give us an idea of what it is they do at the mission and how they find people to help. But it was raining heavily today so there weren't many people to be found. We only found one man living in a shed. He was someone they had run into before, and they weren't able to convince him to come with us.
Even though we couldn't find anyone to bring, it was a good thing for us to go. We saw many of the places the homeless usually live around the Boardwalk, and it was truly eye-opening. I think it is so important not to turn a blind eye towards the needy around us and the reality they are living in every day. It allows God to break our hearts for them and gain compassion.

This evening, we had a worship service at the Rescue Mission. Kathleen sang for the service and it was powerful! The Lord moved in a mighty way, ministering to the hearts of around 200 men and women at the shelter. Many people came forward for prayer at the end of the service, and one man even asked "what must I do to be saved?!!" We were so thrilled to see God move, and feel so blessed to be even a small part of what happened tonight. What a blessing!
We continue to look forward to what God might do these next few weeks. :)
Blessings Brother and Sister!!
